Since I purchased my Kindle from Amazon.com, I'm constantly on the Amazon site perusing ebooks. And, because I love to read - I bypass the expensive books and focus on the titles that are under $4.99. But, although there are many categories, it seems that the same titles pop up over and over again. So, what's a reader to do to find new books that haven't hit the best seller categories yet?
This is where Author Self-Promotion comes in. Contrary to most views on various email loops or Facebook groups or Blogs - I love reading an author's own blurbs about their books!
Yes, you read that last phrase correctly. If no one tells me about the book, I won't know it exists. And, if I don't know the book exists then the decision to check it out and possibly buy it is lost.
So, if you're an author and want to notify me of your latest Kindle book and if that book is under $4.99 and listed on Amazon.com, then this is another opportunity to post about your book in the comments section. Doesn't matter if you write romance or mystery or sci fi or fantasy as I read all genres.
Or, if you want to put me on your email notification list, you can do that, too. Use the email that goes with this blog - quanedster@gmail.com
I don't promise to buy every book I see, but I do promise to read every blurb and check out the book.

I'm with you, Diana. I love learning about other author's books. And it's so easy to click on that BUY button on Amazon. Amazing how those under $5.00 books add up though.
So you can bring on the BSP for me!
Just give me the Home Shopping Channel and Amazon's one click buy button and I'm a happy camper!
I haven't read so many books since I don't know when! I love ebooks!
Diana, I love my Kindle and actually do sleep with it! Finding books to read and enjoy has never been easier...just a *click* away. I'm a big believer that word of mouth is the best way to introduce fun reads.

Hi, Diana,
My only novel that's available as an e-book is STACY'S SONG. It's a YA novel, a coming of age/romance that adult readers seem to enjoy as much as teens. The reviews have been very good. The novel is both humorous and serious. I hope to have more of my novels published with L&L Dreamspell in the future.
I agree 100 percent with you, Diana, if we don't self-promote, how would anyone know about our work being out there? We're the spark that starts the promotion, and yes, it's blatant.
With that said, I would like to blatantly self-promote The Rasner Effect trilogy. More info, plus the new youtube video is at www.markrosendorf.com
Good post, Diana. Giving authors a free BSP opportunity is the main reason I intervew hundreds of authors and industry experts on my blog, www.susanwhitfield.blogspot.com When I first starting promoting my own books online, I got invitations to BSP on their site. I really appreciated the hospitality and generosity, so I now try to pass the word that I'm available. One of the nice extras is that my bio and book information are right on the page too. I hope folks take the time to see who I am and what I've written. Sometimes we simply have to toot our own horns to get visibility.
Another fascianting title!!!
Thanks for inviting your fellow L&L Dreamspell authors to contact you about our books. If you haven't read 13 Days: The Pythagoras Conspiracy, I hope you'll give it a try. It came out a little less than a year ago from L&L Dreamspell and is $4.99 on Amazon Kindle.

13 Days is a story about a plot to sabotage oil refineries, and the woman who must discover and stop it. It's received 4- and 5-star reviews from a variety of readers and reviewers. One review is shown below.
Thanks again, Diana.
Best,

Rating: Excellent “Author L A. Starks delivers an unstoppable thriller that put this reviewer in mind of bestselling novels of this genre over the last several decades, with the welcome addition of depth . . . When the reader turns the final page of 13 Days: The Pythagoras Conspiracy, it will be with an understanding and education gleaned smoothly and without strain or difficulty. This is truly a book which will linger in the reader's mind long after the final ending, as we wonder: “What if?” . . . 13 Days: The Pythagoras Conspiracy is a thriller whose potentials are altogether too probable to ignore.”

Thanks for the opportunity, Diana. In this competitive authors' world every chance counts. I was just at the West Hollywood Book Fair yesterday and many who stopped by the booth asked if my books were on Kindls or eBooks so of course I handed them the card with the info.
As far as BSP, here is one for me:
My two new books are in paperback, Kindle and EBook...the third Silver Sisters Mystery, Vanishing Act in Vegas...a hilarious chase through Sin City to find out Mara the Magnificent's secret and "Writers' Tricks of the Trade: 39 Things You Need to Know About the ABCs of Writing Fiction."
Check the out. Both make great reading for yourself or a gift for the upcoming holidays.
Hi Diana, thanks for the invitation to "BSP" on your blog. I agree that if we can't toot our own horns, who will?
My plug is for a book of poetry on vampires and things vampiric, VAMPS (A RETROSPECTIVE), available only in print form right now (though pretty cheaply) although I understand Sam's Dot Publishing is in process of adding electronic editions for some titles. Info/ordering from Sam's Dot is at http://sdpbookstore.com/poetrybooks.htm#vamps or go to my blog and scroll down for a sample poem (posted around mid-September) and/or click on the book cover in the center column.
For those who want more, here's a blurb (maybe a teensy bit tongue-in-cheek): VAMPS (A RETROSPECTIVE) is an 84-page trade paperback featuring poetry by multi-time Rhysling finalist James S. Dorr on vampires and things vampiric. With illustrations by Marge B. Simon, VAMPS (A RETROSPECTIVE) consists of 75 poems, about a third of which are published here for the first time, with subjects including Max Schreck; Bela Lugosi; “Guillemette” (née Mina Murray); the vampiress Annchuck; the Instrument Maker; crows; krakens (with blood on their beaks); Nikki (who flies); the Night Child; the Birdcatchers; jazz music; dancing; tourists in Europe (“he had a tendency to change the subject when I asked him what he did. Eurotrash, I suppose”); vampire hobbies: runners, swimmers, baseball fans, dates gone bad; from Ancient Greece to the 1,000,000 Credit Galactic Lottery. All this and more can be obtained from Sam's Dot Publishing for only about the cost of a pizza (with blood sausage for a topping, of course -- in this case $7.00 with $3.00 shipping in the US; a, um, bit more to Canada and overseas).
Thanks again --
Wow!! Everything from a book of poetry about Vampires to mystery, young adult, and thrillers!
Wishing the best to all of you authors!!
Hi again Diana! If I may, I remembered another book I could plug, this one a genuine electronic chapbook from Untreed Reads, a mystery/steampunk crossover, VANITAS. Untreed Reads also is running a sale on a number of its titles this month which can be checked out at http://store.untreedreads.com As for VANITAS, it received 4.75 out of 5 stars from NightOwlReviews, http://www.nightowlreviews.com/nor/Reviews/Stesha-reviews-Vanitas-by-James-S-Dorr.aspx
Thanks --
James!
It's my pleasure to allow plugs on my blog. I'd never heard of Vanitas or Untreed Reads! Thanks for the info!
